So i just got my new ppe standard today and love it. . but i am confused about something. . as i was first installing the download it didn't work. . . . as in the pcm updating screen stayed on for 4hrs!!! and i have no idea why but after i waited around i pulled it out and it works fine. . is this normal or not?? by the way i am new with downloads and tuners so this may be an easy answer. . idk
You may have forgot to press a certain button and it was waiting for you. My first PPE was malfunctioning and it wouldn't work so I returned it, got a new one, and now it works perfect.

did you remove the fuses that they tell you to in the instructions? The first time you use it, it downloads all the computer information into the PPE (This can take a while-10 minutes or more) then uploads the new tune (couple minutes) 4 Hours is way to long- remove it and try again.:cool

i have had it happen a few times if your key is in the on postion to long it will power down the ECM to save battery, like when i first tune a truck it has to save the stock info which takes roughly 12-15mins and then when i start downloading a tune it will say comunication error, simply start over and it will work fine.

I agree with TYREBOYZ. Probably something simple. Id retry it and see what happens! When you started the truck did it run better? Did the tune install?

yea it installed itself the second time but ur pry right i don't think i hit the right button somewhere along the line. . also does it matter if the park brake is on because that could of possibly been my problem. . and also do i need to pull those fuses everytime i change tunes??
Yeah, pull fuses every time. What I do is roll the window down and do it from there and make sure dome light override is on (no domelight). That way there is no interuptions during process- do everything from the open window and can look into monitor process if need be and presto. Good luck, you'll love the PPE.
