Alright I know this has been answered before but, is the hp rating on the 06 LLY the same as a 06 LBZ?

They are the same engines in '06, just different tunes. Could this be changed?

a dealership will up the hp on a 06 lly to the LBZ rating. well that is what they told me when I was buying my truck. the other thing is the LBZ has a larger water pump or that is what the shop manager. One of the other guys will chime in and could tell if that is true or not and what is the same and what they changed from the lly to the lbz.

There are a few differences,but mostly in the tunes.The 06 LLY is a lil diff than the 05's IIRC[comp ratio/different?]cooling system is improved also.

Does the 06 LLY have the 6 speed Ally?? I thought it was a 5 speed? I thought that was another reason they upped the HP.

I beleive that some of the 06's have the 6 speeds..VIN numbers tell the tale when it comes to the tuning part though.Mine was built in April 06 and has a ''D''as the eighth # in the VIN...=LBZ!!
