Different brands of synthetic oils

Hello everyone

i've been browsing the forums quite a bit now after I bought my first diesel after coming for owning high strung honda for 6 years.

from what I notice, owners here swear by Amsoil for their diesels. When was still driving my Integra, I was a religious user of Motul and Eneos Engine oils and changed them at regular 5000mile intervals . The reason i chose these oils for my motor is because of their high zinc/phosphorus content formula which gave better lubrication compared to the newer oils because my integra had cams that rode on rocker pads instead of the newer type engines which ran on roller rockers

I've also used Royal purple and didn't like it.

now i was just wondering if anyone has ever used Motul or Eneos products in their diesels?

I've been looking at their product pages and they don't specifically have anything for diesels, but they have products that can be used in diesels/gasser engines

Motul
ENEOS Welcome!

Thanks!

I have used Motul for a long time.

But not in my diesel, I use it in my old 2 stroke road race bikes. I use their brake fluid in my muscle cars and in my bikes. Do they have a diesel specific oil, and IF they do is it certified for use in the 07.5 and 08 DPF equipped diesels, because the zinc and phospoprus are the main components that clog up catylitic converters and DPF filters.

I understand the need for these EP lubricants in flat tappet engines, but the new diesels cant have much of them in their oil, lest they foul the emissions systems and that won't be covered under warranty. It's terribly expensive to replace these emissions components.

I would personally stick with amsoil and if you have a NBS with the LMM make sure you get the CJ-4 approved.
