traction control?

The other night I was messing around and thought i'd do a little boosted 2wd launch just because I haven't ever really tried. When I let off on the break and went the tires spun..and then it kinda fell on its face after the tires were spinning a few seconds so i let off on the throttle to let them stop then hit it again and it fell on its face again for a second. I wasnt sure if it was some sort of automatic traction control or something of that nature

how many miles you have on your truck? when is the last time you changed your fuel filter? I don't think your truck has traction control...it might have been shifting out of first gear...I know if I do a burnout, it doesn't take it long to shift out of first gear.

Tranny might be on its way out. Check and see if your fluid looks or smells burnt. Same thing happened to my business partners truck. It is an 06. Just my thoughts.

IIRC the LBZs have a type of traction control. Try doing it in Manual mode and see if it does it then.

I read in my owners manual that our trucks do have traction control. IIRC you have to have it in manual mode, and in second or third gear I think. I tried it last winter on the ice and it actually worked pretty good. Check out your owners manual if you have one, if not let me know and I'll check mine.

my truck does the same thing...it's totaly normal..cause of the traction control it will let u spin the wheels in 1st gear but as soon as it shift to 2nd TC will kick in, and will stop u from spinning ur tires...and u cant fully ur rear diff from command center in your truck, you will need to take it apart...or somehow reprogame the computer with no TC on...but never seen it...even in manual mode TC is still there, so good luck trying to do burnouts with your new Dmax, just keep in in first gear manual...hope it helps
