New pcm update for egr 403 code

Just returned from the dealer Friday due to a 403 EGR code. The computer was updated with a new program and the EGR was cleaned electronically. The new service bulliten says DO NOT CHANGE EGR or MOTOR. Update computer and Clean EGR which took about 90 minutes. The Tech 2 computer does someting electronically to clean the EGR motor and this process can take up to 75 minutes. (I think it cycles the motor numerous times to numerous positions). Mine took about 90 min. This was the first one my dealer has done but they were nice enough to give me a copy of the bulliten. Drove about 80 miles with no CEL illuminated. It would come on before this service about 10 miles after clearing the code.

What year truck do you have? Why was it throwing that code? Did you block it? Most people on here purposely block theirs and use a programmer to clear codes..

Give it time..the check engine lite will come back on. When it does have them replace the solenoid.

I have a 2007 GMC sierra classic. I had the egr blocked and a fingerstick but it started throwing a 403 code which the fingerstick does nothing for. I removed stick and plate and took back to the dealer for repairs. What programmers are people using to block the codes and will they block the 403 code or just the 401 codes.

I have the same code on my truck. The first time they replaced the EGR valve, and now the CEL comes on every day. I need to take it back, but I have been putting it off because I don't have the motivation to take the edge off. Maybe this simple fix will take care of it.
