If you have ever had a glow plug failure, please enter

I am looking for people that have ever had a glow plug failure on there vehicle. If I can get some basic information from you it would be greatly appreciated. This is only for MY2006 to present Dmax equiped trucks.

Here is the info I need, fill in as much as you can.

Year:

Mileage at failure:

Does the vehicle have any performance add on's:

The number of failed glow plugs:

Was the Glow Plug Control Module replaced:

A brief description of what the vehicle was doing before the indication of the check engine or glow plug lamp would be very helpful. (ie. freeway driving, towing, driving around town etc...)

Thank you very much for your help.

2007 2500 Classic
I have had 6 glow plug failures in 13,000 miles
started in 2/08 fixing number 6 now.
no add on's. have gone out after just starting the vehicle and moving a short distance , then check engine light comes on. One time the glow plug light didn't go out after starting.
they, the dealer is replacing the module this week along with the other plugs that haven't been replaced.
you can see my post in this forum last week.

The dealer has not had any vehicles with 6 failures but they are getting other failures. They are in touch with the chevy techs and I have called the chevy headquarters and filed a complaint. My vehicle has the 100,000 warranty but I am asking them to increase the warranty to 200,000 miles.
The techs ordered the dealer to remove all the plugs and check them but the 5 replaced were okay, but they are going to replace the other 3 and the module. What is bothering me is that they have had to remove the head twice to remove a 1/4 inch piece of the tip of the glow plug that broke off. They showed me the last glow plug and it looked real brittle(like from getting to hot for to long) and the 1/4 inch piece is in the cylinder. Keep me posted on what you find out and what your plans are with this information.

bubba1978, are you having trouble with your glow plugs? I had the mechanic tell me he thought there was a bad bunch of glow plugs installed at the factory. but nothing confimed. I think there are a lot of glow plug failures and the problem could almost warrant a recall.
