Cooler lines?

Allright guys, yesterday I was messin around with the truck (LLY) and noticed a leak in one of my tranny cooler lines where it is crimped. My question is has anyone changed them to high pressure rubber hose or ran another kind of line.
It looks like to me that the factory lines are plastic and I ain't to fond of plastic.

Had a similar problem with mine (07 Classic LBZ). Except mine chaffed throgh where they cross over the rack and pinion for the steering, both lines would catch on the tie rod end and smash up against the oil pan. Changed out both of the lines with stock, not fun. Secured the lines up out of the way. Haven't had any problems since. Not sure if the new lines will fit or not, but they are made of metal and rubber. Cost me $182 for both lines and about 3 hours to change them myself.

The local parts store told me the line was 6.99. I think that was a little to cheap, but we will see. They had to order it. It looks like they are held in with quick connects like are on some fuel lines. There's got to be a way to change that too.

Not sure about up by the cooler but on the tranny there is a littel clip that holds them one.

Slide the little plstic cover back, and pop that little clip out. Give the line a yank and there you have it. Unless 6spds are different

We replace those all the time. I am actually doing both oil cooler lines and both tranny lines on one right now. 56K on the truck. thats it.

Well after some figurin and cussin I changed all the lines to 1/2 hydraulic steel braided line with crimped on fittings. It might be a little overkill but I don't have to worry about them leakin anymore.
