Whats the best chip/programmer for a 2006 with aliison?

Hi, I'm new here. I was wandering what the best chip or programmer is to use on an otherwise stock 2006 duramax with the aliison. Don't wanna tear the tranny out. Also gonna do an exhaust. Thanks in advance for the help guys.

Had great luck with Diablosport. Edge has been pretty good too.

Good advice there. Moderation is the key for mileage.

I have an 07 lbz, want to run an edge programmer, will that recalibrate the tranny computer aswell. Was also wondering if there is an aftermarket torque converter I could use instead of the factory one, because the motor revs so damn high with the six speed.

If you look around you should be able to get a Hypertrech for under $300.00 they can do it all and pretty cheap to.

You probably heard but you cant add more than 85hp to the stock allison or you'll start to burn clutches in the trany.

tranny

Yeah, I heard about the 85 hp limit. What is the best, and least exspensive way around that limit. I do not want to put a tranny in it quite yet, I have had the truck for 2 months now.

Performance VB like the one from Suncoast is a great place to start. Increase the pressure to the clutches you increase the clutches holding power to a point. Also will clean up the shifts and help reduce heat. Next would be a converter. After that, the next step is a Stage 3 kit from Suncoast. If you are going to do that, though, I would say go for the stage IV and get it over with.

i run a bully dog shift kit and it a excellent job but if you plan on running more then 150 to 200hp extra i would spend the extra cash and go with the sun coats or ats stage 3 or 4...my next step is a stage 4 tranny..just my experience
