| Well its done!!!! Took me a little long cause the dam wheels liner is a little tricky with the dual hoop in there! Went smoothly except when the bit got stuck in the hole! i started a few sizes smaller and it was the 2nd one up that got stuck. Word of advice is just drill the 21/64's right off the hop! Other then that its in and working! Thanks for the help guys

| I am new to the duramax forum as I recently purchased my truck in early fall. There is so much to learn and what i have discovered so far is how valuable this forum is and your experiences with your trucks. Thank you all for sharing and at some point I am just going to do this and feel confident about it, just wanted to share that with all of you who commented on this thread and the numerous other threads in this forum. | I'm a machinist, I've helped do this couple times. We used a Mac tools vacuum thingy that hooks up to an air line. With the engine NOT running, I'm a machinist and I've broke drill bits as well. I would rig up a shop vac, wouldn't use any lube for the drill. But def use a little shot of "rapid tap" on the tap, it will help your tap create a better thread profile and less risk of a tooth breaking off or something. Better safe than sorry IMO. | Do you guys put any sealant on the EGT probe when you install it? I'm getting ready to install one and the info here was a huge help.
