The transgo will not help out the 5-speed allison because of the design of it. The 6-speed allison is a totally different setup and the transgo helps hold more pressure on the clutches. If you are wanting to go with a higher setting on your PPE your best bet is to go with a suncoast stage III or IV. Again i dont know the most about tranny's because idaho rob can tell you all you need to know and will tell you why the transgo works on the 6-speed allisons and the 5-speed allisons.

There are companys who make kits where it converts your 5 speed allison into a 6 speed.. IDK exactly how it works but you might be able to do that and than put on a transgo.
I'm not understanding the replies here. The transgo absolutely increases the trans capability in the LLY. The Torque converter will need to be replaced as it is THE power transfer weak point in ALL dmax's.
I think you get near 500 HP with converter and transgo.

not worth getting a transgo jr if your willing to pull the tranny out. for the 5 speed tranny, you have to pull the transmission out just to put a shift kit in. for the 6 speed tranny, all you have to do is drop the pan and take the valve body, then put in the mods in it. but as killerbee said, you can get close to 500rwhp using a transgo jr and a better torque converter. torque converter is the main thing that holds most of the power in a transmission than a set of clutches does.
