| What is this leak? The truck is a 06 Sierra. It has a coolant leak but it only leaks after it has been sitting for 3-5 hours. It does not leak while running. Seems kinda odd to me. It appears it is leaking from the bolt in the first picture. I can not see anything above it leaking that is running down. The bolt is tight but what is this called that the coolant is leaking from? It looks like it may be part of the oil filter housing, I know the oil filter housing connects to the oil cooler and the coolant flows down through the cooler while the engine coolant absorbs heat from the oil. The oil goes through the oil return line, to the oil filter, then to the main engine oil passage, but does any coolant run through the oil filter housing? ![]()

| Could be the lines feeding coolant to the egr cooler are leaking at the connection or are dry rotted. Check to see if there is any coolant pooling in the engine valley, it could be running down the back of the engine to where you see it... |
