Whats your oil pressure reading?

Hey Guys!

Motor has about 3000 miles and I know everything is still settlein into place,
but I was wonderin about the wide range in oil pressure Im gettin

Warm and below 2000 RPMs Im at 30 psi. above 2000 it jumps up to around 60.

Not worrin, no knocks, everthing is great, just curious

Eric

IIRC, mine is anywhere from 40-60 while driving down the road. Most of my driving keeps me under 2000 rpms on the highway. I think I am around 50-60 going down the highway. I run synthetic oil....Delvac 1 5w40 year round. At normal idle when warm, I think mine is about 25-30 psi. Of course, I have an LB7 too.

before the oil cooler, i was at 20-25 psi at 2000 rpm when towing. Now it is 45-60 psi under the same conditions. Our oil gets HOT, and thin.

Ya I thought mine was unusually low to. Reads about 10-15 at idle and 50-65 when accelerating. I guess atleast its there when you need it!

There are some reports that LBZ pistons are cracking. Oil pressure drop is speculated as the cause, leaving the underpiston oil flow shorted. Someone measured his oil temperature when climbing a hill with his trailer, it was 360 degrees.
