Engine I am thinking about trying for

Hey guys! I have been a long time lurker here and have gotten quite a lot of usefull info from you guys, so let me say thanks!

My buddy and myself are starting a new project. We are going to proceed a different route this time and build something "around" an engine. We have been looking at used duramax here and there and nothing has really caught our eye till now.

BRAND NEW DURAMAX 6.6 TURBO DIESEL LLY ENGINE LOADED:eBay Motors (item 110451432206 end time Nov-05-09 06:45:00 PST)

I have tried contacting dealers and part stores on the internet all this morning and havent been able to come up with this setup thats listed here for under 20k. Apparently I cant get this configuration new or something.

My question to you guys is: Do you think this would be good in either a boat or should we just "build" it into a custom truck? Also, how high would you guys go (it is an auction after all) as in how much would you say its worth?
I know we would have a lot of work swapping out the wire harness and housings etc but this baby looks mint!

Looks like a very clean engine right there. Im surprised they haven't put a reserve or "buy it now" price. Haven't heard of many people putting these in boats, but if you think your up for it, give it a try. I'd probably try putting it into a custom truck... Good luck

Ya, we are thinking truck, but a boat would be awesome. Theres a local guy who has this same engine (with some add ons) in a custom camaro and yes it is way over the hood and he only has about a foot and a half of visibility out of the windshield.
Im just wondering how high we should go up on the bidding.
Any of you guys have any idea of what this engine is worth in this condition?

Yea a boat would be sweet! But a DMax in anything automatically gives it the "cool" factor

Heh, I wish it were only that much. I cant get a reman of that model for under 9k here. Hopefully i will get lucky. Ill keep watchin, thanks for the reply.

upgraded injectors but "fresh from the assembly line" ummmmmm... something is fishy here...

Towards the end of the production line you could get these new with upgraded injectors. I talked to the seller on the phone, its all legit
