How hard and what needs to be done to swap a short bed onto a long bed truck

I'm looking at this rig, I will be plowing with it, and like a short bed like on the 1500 I plow with now, just wondering how much estimated cost would be to swap the beds? I'm guessing I have to find a donor bed, and chop the frame down to fit the short bed, but aren't the gears different too?

I know some guys that plow with crew cab duallys, why do you think you can't plow with it the way it is. You'll get used to the long bed.

From watching on trucks, it isnt that easy of a conversion as you have to chop the frame near or under the cab and not the end. Then you will also need to do a shorter driveshaft, change the exhaust, new brake lines....the list goes on. Gears are the same..i dont know why they would be different.

That's the problem they don't make sc/sb dmax and I want a dmax dammit, the rc are so much cheaper then the cc/ec's if I could find a ec sb with 50k miles lbz for $20k i'd be all over it, the price of trucks is gonna rise for winter so I'll have to wait till next year if I can't find nothing in my range
