finally!! something went wrong

well i knew it would come someday.....i have 195,000 kms on my truck and have never had a single problem with it.......until today :P

threw a code got a CEL

i dont have a scanner soo ill have to take it into the dealership to figure it out.

My hunch right now is its something to do with my exhaust.

i put in my 4" turbo back this spring (cat deleted) but straight piped it last week (muffler deleted)...dont know if this would be enough to throw a code or not..

anyways...im really hoping its nothing major...truck sounds fine and runs great.

im quite impressed that after all these kms and not a single problem....knock on wood.

i dont think ive ever owned a vehicle that has lasted this long without trouble.

hopefully this isnt a sign of things to come!

Go to Autozone or Advance Auto and use their scanner to check the codes and then if they do not tell what the code is for check out the following link...

Have you made any other changes?

unfortunately auto zone and advanced auto is non existant in canada ( or at least around vancouver)......BD diesel's head office/shop is about a 10 min drive from my house...im sure they'd have a scanner....other than my exhaust i havent done anything else to the powertrain (i do have the resonator plugged but i have never heard of that throwing a code) ive noticed my coolant temp has been slightly higher than normal the last couple of days ( sitting at about 90-95 ish celcius )....checked the coolant level..all is good....

i guess ill find out in the next couple of days...ill be sure to post my findings!

update...i shut the truck down for 5 min...fired er' back up and still had the CEL......got home had dinner.....hoped back in the truck a couple hours later...no more CEL....hmmm....dono what to say......will the code still show if it was scanned...or is it completely cleared now that the CEL is out?

the code will still be there..get it read and let us know what they say so we can help...
