| egt temps? where should I set my max egt at? I have it set at 1250, but if I get on it very hard it hits it and defuels on me. Should I have my pyro in my exhaust manifold instead of the turbo downpipe?

| Yes, it will have a different temperature. Also as for setting it, I have been told that 1350, the heads on a Duramax start to melt.

| Having it post turbo, towing i would not go over 1100 deg or 1300 if it was pre turbo. If you are just messing around on the street and running it hard in short burst, set it to max for short burst you wont hurt anything, myself and others have easily pegd 1600 and 1800 deg gauges while sled pulling or drag racing. Egts on these trucks run over 1250 degs stock!

| my egt probe is on the driveside exhaust manifold and i can easily see 1200-1300* on a hill with a trailer and the most i have seen was 1760* but on sort bursts it won't hurt it but my pryro is before the turbo so after the turbo i wouldn't let it go above 1100-1200* max.

| Exhaust manifold, You can drill and tap your's or buy a BD exhaust manifold they come pre drilled for a EGT probe for the drivers side. If you drill your own, drill the passenger manifold there are some pics on kennedy diesel for placement.

| the most accurate place is the driveside manifold but it isn't the easiest place to get to.

| The manifold for sure is the safest place to tap. There can be as little as 50 degrees to as much as 600 degrees (depends on thottle position and load) difference in temps between the pre and post points. Measuring after the turbo is just guessing. Bob Riley |
