Question check engine light

I have an 06 LBZ with AFE air filter,Diablo Sport Preator,5" motor back exhaust.

My check engine light came on today ,just wondering if it is a common problem or does anyone know the best way to keep light off.

The trouble code reads (po401 exhaust gas recirculation)

seems to be pretty common deal with aftermarket exhaust. there are some things you can do like run an egr plug and a code blocker. a few guys on here have that stuff. hopefully they'll be along soon to give you some more info.

welcome to the forum!!

Yes the code is caused buy low exhaust pressures from the larger exhaust. you can get a code eliminator and a egr blocker from kennedydiesel.com for 30 or 40 bucks i can't quite remember the excact price. The blocker plate is not nessary but will keep all the soot out of your intake and help lower egts a hair also! i ahave installed a few on some 06 trucks its really not hard at all! I also used to use one on my o5 untill i started using efi live, but i do still have the blocker plate in!

Hope this helps
Caleb
