Safe EGT for shut down?

Hey guys- I have never used the turbo- timer feature of my Edge JWA, but have considered it after towing a little more lately. I know that it will throw a code because it confuses the computer, and I can set my Edge to turn it off on the next startup. My questions are: what egt do I set to go down to before turning off, and is there anything harmful about it throwing the codes that it is said to do when using this feature? If I shouldn't use it, its not a big deal but it would be nice to walk away after the drive and let it do its thing without coming back to shut it down.

i let mine cool to 300 almost all the time but lower than 350 always so i would probably let it cool to 300 since you dont have to sit and wait for it to cool, if you cant set a specific temp get an idea how long it takes for it to cool to whatever temp you want it to shutdown at. hope this helps

Lubemann, I am like you, I like to see mine below 300. Just makes me feel better. But I am towing at least 80% of the time, and most times Iam heavy. My picture to the left I hit the scales at 21,600

i know its not a dmax but i like mine at or under 300 b4 shutdown... dont have to hardly wait anymore with the silver bullet, but with stock turbo i would have to shut off the AC to get the temp down faster (works great by the way) maybe try that if it's taking too long, but i figure 1 more minute for peace of mind isn't that bad...

I always let my truck go to 300 before I shut down. I have my turbo timer set at 3 minutes.....but honestly, when I stop my truck my EGT's are never higher than 410-420 and it only takes about 10 seconds to get to 370....
