Which programmer/ chip is best?

Well, I just crossed the line from a long time cummins owner to becoming a Duramax owner. What is the best programmer chip for the duramax? Why is it the best? I'm mostly interested in getting better mileage and maintaining city and highway driveability and dependability. Extra power would just be a great perk!

welcome to the forum..the Duramax has been making a name for itself but it may take a fews years to have the rep the Cummins has but where working at it..
the best tuning avalible for your Duramax is the Diablo,PPE or EFILive.
the best for the dollar is the Diablo but IMO the best and easiest is the PPE but if you want the ultimate tuning tool but it takes a tad bit more is the EFILive and you can build all your own tunes to your perfection.
ps if you want the stock tranny to last a long time don't add more then 90RWHP.

The 3 main ones we use are the Diablosport, PPE and Edge Juice/Attitude.

The Diablo is the most cost effective, giveing good, smooth power for the least amount of money. Has 3 aftermarket settings, 60,90,120 hp.

PPE is more aggressive. Available is several different levels of power ability, each can be upgraded to the next level. If its serious power you want, this is the upgrade you want. The Hot+2 will make a ton of power, and will require a few other upgrades including the transmission to use its full potential.

The Juice is the mid range power producer, but has many advantages. First is built in gauges. With any programmer you will need gauges, and the Juice has them included. Reads and clears trouble codes on the fly, and is the only Adjustable on the fly chip of these 3. Also includes a turbo cool down timer. Most options for the price.

This should give you some stuff to think about.

My advice to you is call ALL the companies and see what they offer....and then compare that to YOUR driving style. I was very undecided when I bought my stuff....and everyone told me Diablo, PPE, or EFI live...so I didn't bother to check into other ones. But my main concern was my tranny....and Banks ended up having the best tranny safeguards and best warranty..so I went with them. But I called all the companies to see what they offered....because if you want power...and have or are going to get a rebuilt tranny...then PPE or EFI live would be the best to get.

Thanks guys, ya'll have been a really big help! Diablo was actually my favorite with the cummins, so I may give that a shot first. Other than Diablo, PPE sounds pretty good, also, but what kind of fuel mileage gains will I be expecting (real world) with these different programers? Right now I'm at about 14.5 to 15 using math at the pump (miles/ gallons = average mpg)
