Hello! I am considering a remote start system for y '06 LBZ duramax. What do you recommend? I want something with good range and a 2-way remote so I know the truck has actually started. Also want something that would work in conjuction with my factory alarm & door locks so that I do not have two remotes to carry around in my pocket. Anything like this out there? Thank you!!
Any idea what model? My brother has a VIPER system but it was very expensive and an entire alarm too with motion and vibration sensors and the whole deal.
I have the Viper 5501 in my truck, and love it. The 5501 is just the remote start and replaces your keyless. Has the two way remote with a rechargable battery. Otherwise you end up going through around 15 AAA's a year. I traded my old one in on the new one from my installer, paid 200.00 Not sure what a new one installed would be, I'm guessing around 400.00 since they have to put in a passlock 2 bypass.
I have an auto page, 2 way transmitter/alarm, got it for 130 new off of ebay it has all you need wait to start, turbo cool down timer, hell it even tells you the temperature inside your truck when your not there! for any auto start you buy dont forget your gonna need to purchase an alarm bypass also... are you planning on installing yourself?
I have seen people able to park their vehicle, turn the key to OFF and take the keys with them and the vehicle stays running.
Upon returning they just insert and turn the key to ON and drive away. The vehicle stays running.
Any help?
Kody
Yea on mine its the same concept as the turbo cool down timer, you preset a time, then when you park you press a button on the remote pull the key out the truck stays running for the amount of time, i think mine will go up to 30 min! and if you want to stop the truck you just press the start button twice and hold it
