For some reason I was thinking there were replacements for more than just one side. I'm not looking at the truck now, but if we are only replacing 1/2 of the problem, isn't the airflow still limited to the 2 1/2 restriction- is there really any gain? Anyone ever done a dyno before/after?

yea makes sense but after the boost as gone through the intercooler it looses a lot of velocity so at that point the 2 1/2 is sufficient enough

I just installed the AFE on my LMM a few days ago
not only is it bigger but it gets rid of the 90 degree turn right before it enters the intercooler
apparently you dont need the other side because the air condenses after the intercooler
I also noticed that the stock pipe was wearing through an aluminum line on the frame rail
