3 inch boost tubes

I'm wanting to pick up some 3 inch boost tubes for my 06 LLY. I can't wrap my head around why GM went from the 3 inch in the LB7 to the 2.5... I'm thinking that is one of the reasons the LB7's got better mileage.

I find the 1 AFE pipe, but I know there are several boost tubes and only replacing one seems kinda pointless to me. Any help is appreciated.

Sean

The AFE pipe is very nice, we just did a install here. The reason you can only do one is the CAC has a hard tube molded into the end tank.

One reason was probably for quicker turbo response!

actually that doesn't make sense....you want as most flow as possible post turbo for the easiest flow to spool the best

Yes but it has to pump that much more air to get the same boost pressure. Right?

no.....thats why the new boost turbo increases boost by a pound or so...

the compressor is doing the same work its just getting choked up afterwords....its like taking the air line your using to fill up a tire and parking your truck on the hose....the compressor is doing the same thing but i bet your getting less air out the other end into the tire
