exhaust scream

the exhasut on my truck is a 4 inch turbo back summit racing and it was for an extended cab and too short so it ends before the rear end and has a turn down it screech's like its trying to breath throung a straw if i put a normal over the axle exhaust will it sound normal or is the screech just normal.

A straight piped D-Max will do this because of the VVT Turbo... Its normal, enjoy the sound

Add a diamond eye downpipe and the scream will lessen a lot.

i had the same problem when i cut the muffler out of my 4" system...drove around with it for a couple days like that...i know what you mean...its crazy loud if the pipe ends early (like... need ear plugs loud) once i got my straight pipe back in over the axle it sounded muchhh better......far less scream (maybe just because the sound was being routed elsewhere).....i think i may still get the diamond eye downpipe though....just to see if it will help my performance or temps at all.
