With my Diablo, Turbo back silverline and air box mod my 4x4 with aftermarket wheels and tires gets right at 21mpg at 75mph. I think that is great!

Hello,
I have an '05 lly cc 2wd. I have had installed an Edge with attitude and pull a 37' 5th wheel RV. The unit is programmed to the 2 setting and I can see 2-3 mph improvement with or with the RV connected. This is both true with Highway (65mph max) or city. My problem with this product is that when I accelerate to pass or try to change lanes in traffic, I have had the "limp home" state occur. After stopping and turning the engine off and removing the key for 2 or 3 minutes, the engine resumes proper activity. I have recently changed the fuel filter, (within 5k miles) and use the brand sold by the NAPA parts house. I use best fuel around.
when I accelerate without full throttle, the engine operates correctly.
Any suggestions?

Do you know which codes it sets? Do you get a 2000 RPM rev limiter? Does it downshift to 3rd gear and stay there?

Hi,
No codes are set, but the rev limiter must kick in, because when I try to raise the rpm past 2k, the engine bucks and looses power. This translates into about 65 mph. The real issue that I have is that I tried to pass another RV rig on a 2 lane highway, and about the time when I was even with the rig I was trying to pass, the rev limiter kicked in, and I had to brake to get in behind the slower rig. This wasn't very much fun, because there were oncoming vehicles and it could have become a disaster.
Thanks.

I would just like to say that if you are towing...and running extra HP with a stock tranny...and hitting in at high speeds...especially in 4th or 5th....I don't think your tranny is holding up to the extra HP...that's why when you don't get on it...it doesn't limp. If you are going to keep doing that..might wana consider a tranny upgrade. It will cost ya around 2,500 to 3,000. This is my opinion anyways...

Thanks for your replies gang,
I'll have to contact my installer to see if he could put the Fuel pressure shim in for me. I've really enjoyed the extra fuel mileage and power this device provides, especially when pulling my RV, using level 2 "tow". The engine seldom heats enough for the fan to kick in and only a couple of times has the tranny had to downshift to maintain travel speed. I never go over 65 mph and have yet to have issues in climbing hills.
Steve

do a shim kit but most importantly do a lift pump to help out with fuel deliverly to the engine.
