I'm hearing alot about the PPE mod on the factory AIS to save $.What does 1 of those cost if you want to go back stock in the future?I'm thinking more than a S&B AIS @270.00.Just wondering.

I'm not sure but you are probably right. You could always try and find one from a wrecked truck at a junkyard.

I ck'd a junkyard for an oil cooler line 4 a customers truck. Also asked about AIS,they said anything hooked to the engine stays with the engine.Even for gas V8's.I'm gonna try S&B on mine and keep stock one in tact.

I went with an Airaid, cheapest one I could find and added an Amsoil dry filter w/prefilter.

Here is an IAT comparison, between the LLY stock intake, and another, non-commercial intake. This is the result of city driving, on a very hot day. The commercially available intake, almost all of them, look just like this spikey curve.

The chart shows the inlet air temperature at the element. The spikey curve is the stock LLY intake. It is among the worst oscillations in the automotive industry. The flat curve is the intake I designed, on the same day, same course.

I don't know Jim Hall.
