Need Egr Gasket!

I'm in the need of a EGR gasket for 2006 GMC Sierra LBZ. The only place that I can get one is the dealer and they all want the VIN. Apparently the engine code isn't good enough. I have called 4 Dealers GMC and Chevy and both have said the same B.S. and one guy told me to get one off another truck in a parking lot because it would be in the computer and thus a warranty issue. Does anyone know where I can get one? Thanks

Can you make one out of gasket material..? Just a thought...

I believe you can but it would have to be very thin material. The plates are hard enough to get in there with 1 gasket.

I would doubt it, the gaskets are stainless steel.

I buy parts every day. They dont keep your vin very long. All they do is look the part number up and thats it. Parts guys in a whole dont give a crap. Your lucky to even find a guy that knows how to use a computer. There is nothing to be afraid about. They will forget you when you walk out the door!
