I bought a ppe standard programmer of ebay... which i probably shouldn't of done, and when i plug it in it says invalid vin#. I was wondering if any knows what i have to do to get it to work. I called ppe they said they would have to reflash it for $150. I was wondering if there is another way.
Yup I agree with the reflash. Can you get in contact with the guy and see if he knows whats up?

bigred is right,someone didn't return it to stock which will put then into a serious bind since it also Vin locked the ECM(you caint download more then one programmer on the ECM at one time)of the truck so they will have to explain to a dealer whats they have a aftermarket tune on the truck and then also get a reflash for the ECM.

I would contact the guy that you got it from. If he wont make good leave feed back accordingly. Then I would contact ebay. You can find this go to my ebay then on the left lower side is dispute console. If you paid throuh pay pal you can get some of your money back through them.

the programmer is still good all you have to do is send it to PPE and have them reflash it,contact Dan @ PPE and tell him the problem and he will do what it takes to take care of you.

Yep, he didn't unmarry the PPE. I would contact him and tell him now you have to pay "extra" to have the programmer reflashed and see if he will make it right with you.
