I did not know that, killerbee. I was told that the duramax intakes are highly restrictive. Not true? I agree with you though. Why take the chance on battling codes. How much horse power do you gain from a cold air intake? If any at all.

I am for sure going to get the 4" turbo back stainless. Probably a MBRP brand. Where can I get the blocker plate and the fingers stick? Are they sold anywhere?

What are some other things I can do to get some more horse power and torque. Just some small things that don't that would make the truck more efficient?

You wont gain any hp from the intake. Keep the stock intake and do the Kennedy air box Mod and get a good filter.

We have just rented a 2008 672D or a 670D John Deere Maintainer just like the one you have, and I have been running it for the last two weeks. I love it. It's set up so nice inside and runs so smooth. So much power for the size. Feels stronger than the Case 845.

I was wondering what else I could do to get alittle more reaction out of the pedal?

In my opinion, which this is just an observation. I did notice a slight drop in EGTs with a Volant air box, about 100 degrees F. Just an observation. I think the biggest fact of the drop was from the better air filter. I'd say stick with the stock box, and put a K&N air filter in it and call it good. I haven't gotten any codes from the Volant, and my dad has a K&N in his 03 LB7 and hasn't had any trouble either.
I think unless you're running big horsepower, the airbox isn't worth the price. But the filter is.

This year vehicle has very little resistance built into it.

Earlier models are a different story.
