Heavy Duty Tie Rods

I think I have the stock tie rods on my truck - I see lots of signatures that say Heavy Duty tie rods- will they help strength and longevity enough to spend the $?? If yes, then which ones to buy and how much?? Any vendors on here that supply these? Thanks- Jason

The tie rod sleeves and Heavy duty tie rods are usefull for anyone that uses their 4wd very much. The tie rods are prone to break under harsh conditions, mainly boosted 4wd lauches, drag racing, sled pulling, and offroading. There are some vendors on here that sell them, so i am sure they will chime in.

Jason, I sell the PPE tie rod sleeves. Like BigRed said, if you plan on doing any of the "activities" he listed then yes they are for you. PM me if you need a price.

Cognito makes real nice H.D.tie rods. If you do not want to sleeve your stockers.

I stock sleeves for the Duramax, and the price won't break the bank. Listed on my site.

It sounds like the sleeves would be good for me, I will not be racing or anything like that. Occasionally a little off road use, not much. Thanks for the info- I will check your websites for these sleeves- Jason

Well, I bent something tonight. The tires are towed in slightly after dragging a hot little dodge charger. Don't know anything about it but it was super fast on top end, he just couldn't hook up on the bottom. I blew him out in 1/8, and was still ahead at the 1/4 but after that he blew by like I was sitting still.

Is it the outer rods that bend? I can't tell that anything has changed, but its definitely not right. I'll get a better look tomorrow in the daylight.

I'm going to have the front end aligned until I replace the parts, anyone see anything wrong with this as long as I don't get rough with it?
