I am new to this forum and I figure you have talked about this before but I have a question about the convertor on the 06 LBZ motor. Will you have engine problems if you remove the convertor or not. Most of the exhaust companies I have spoken to say leave it there, but I see where alot of you in this forum have taken it out, so what are your feelings on this.
Diesel engines perform a lot better without cats, the earlier lb7's did not even have em on some models.

It might or might not set any codes. Some do and some don't, there are a couple different ways to address it though. You can get a "fingerstick" which is a small computer chip that you splice in with your maf sensor that will block the codes. Get a PPE programmer, Diablo Sport Preditor programmer, or efi live. They will all block the codes.

I would drop it like a hot rock. Oh wait I already did. My truck loves the open exhaust, with that and a programmer she is like a whole different animal.

I have a 06 and removed my CAT and would definatly do it again. Not sorry about it at all!
The only problem you "may" have is the check engine soon light could come on and it could hurt your warranty. My SES light came on about 5 times in 13,000 miles so it doesnt happen alot. It does help the HP and makes the truck sound alot better

You guys that live in states where people are "rational" are lucky. The word in California is that the Air Quality nazis are going to require a visual inspection of the oil burners in 2009 to check for required equipment! Bummer, time to move...

I am here in CA also and I think I will just keep the stock stuff in the rafters and stick it back on when I have to go do the inspections. I heard that the inspections were from the year they put it into effect on not the previous years. That's what I'm hoping for anyway. Untill we find out, keep your stock stuff.
