4x4 launch

when you launch in 4 when you get goin are you supposed to take it out or just keep it in all the way?

I wouldn't try switching if you're still under torque, wait til you can let off the throttle for a few seconds while it switches to 2wd

get some tie-rod sleeves or new tie rods on way if your going to be launching in 4wd much. Or you'll be stuck at the track.

x2 on the sleeves. And it won't do any good to switch it out. Like stated above until you let out of the throttle it will stay in 4wd.

Heres what happens launching in 4wd with too big of a tire, too much power, and stock tie rods with no sleeves.

700+ 1/4 mile 4x4 runs under my belt with two Duramaxs and never a problem. Leave it in 4x4 until you go through the traps.

Yup I agree. Get the sleeves and leave it in till your done and letting off!

fabtech has some pretty beefy new tie-rods worth lookin at for cool factor but sleeves much more economical

You might get away with a couple of times but you get bit eventually. You definitely need tire rod sleeves for 4x4 launches.
