PPE with cat-back exhaust. high EGT's??????

I have a 4" MBRP cat-back on my truck, and I run the PPE on stage two(90). I dont have guages yet, so I am wondering, do you think my egts are really high because I still have that cat in there? I am always weery to get on it, because I am scared the egt's are through the roof.

Also, I am towing this weekend down the turnpike and I am wondering what level I should put the ppe on, will my egt's be high if I tow with that cat under there??

i would put on level 1 to tow and as long as not holding it wot very long you are ok with egts just dont run hard for long duration

I would say you would be ok as long as your not running WOT for very long. I would highly suggest you get a Pyrometer though.

You can tow on level 2 just dont beat the hell out of the truck. Get a pyro guage soon.

run it the way it is but don't stay in it to long like more then 15-30 sec at WOT and if your towing put it into manual mode and drop it to 5TH gear on the hills and your EGT's will stay belowe 1300* without a problem.

Does taking the cat out really lower egt's all that much?? I dont really have much plans on taking it out, but I want to know if it is necessary to keep the temps down.

Yes it will make a pretty big difference. Mine was about 200 degrees cooler when driving hard after takeing the cat off.

My EGT's dropped about 200 when I removed the cat also. My EGT's also dropped about 50 more degrees when I pulled the muggler off.
