Talking the hate is over, i want a programmer.........holy crap

alright, well after exploding my 8.1 i finally decided that i want a programmer again. 80% of my miles are with 8k pounds or more so i was looking into just a plain ppe excelerator economy,,,, is it save at the 40h setting w/8k behind it with no tranny mods, when i put the 36' flat bed behind it i think i'll still turn it off but i mainly want the little bit more milage with my race trailer. also empty how safe is the higher tunes w/ the tranny with alittle f-nn around also how is 225 as a price?...............................this thing is freakin nasty on three, now i see why u guys like them so much. lets see how it does on one towing for fuel milage

Yep the 40 hp tune would be alright. Shouldn't get your egt's too high. Put some gauges in there and you'll be able to monitor it a little easier. I ran mine about 9 months on the 90 hp tune(level2) and never a problem then I got the tranny and lift pump and bumped it to the 350 tune on my Hot+2! You'll be fine.

I agree, you can run the 40 hp setting while towing 8000 pounds. If you install guages you may even be able to run the 90hp setting because the PPE is rated at the crank instead of the wheels.

on my LBZ i ran level 2-3 for almost 40,000 miles and never to my knowledge hurt anything in the tranny.i ran level 2 while towing and level 3 while driving the truck around empty for the most i followed that rule but i have pulled some weight(10,000# at most)with level 3 and the EGT's were very manageable.

As long as your EGT's are down, and you aren't noticing and weirdness coming from the tranny or slippage while keeping your foot light....I wouldn't worry about it.
