I had to do it! My old 98 f150 4x4 just could not handle the trailer and quad deck anymore. WOW is there a power difference.
I picked up a 07 LT3 Silverado 2500HD Classic with only 20k on it from Texas. Drove it home to Canada (3500 kms) with no problems at all.
Accessories questions: (gas economy is more important than increasing HP)
I have a buddy that can get GMC Preformace parts at cost and suggested the GMC preformance Cold Air Intake and Cat Back exhaust. Are this better or worst then others?
Other assosories:
Cload Rider mud flaps
Cload Rider SS Nerf Boards
Air Bags (I already got a 100% duty air compressor and 2.5 gal Tank to frame mount)
SS grill protectors
SS rock and bug protector
SS Still gaurds
I would say go aftermarket it does make a big difference in mileage. I have a lbz too and I can knock down 20 to 22 on the highway with 285s. i turned my programmer all the way up but I also had to install a transgo Jr.

i'm with what they suggested...i ran the PPE on level 3 on my LBZ for 40,000 miles with completely stock tranny and an aftermarket exhaust and average 3MPG over stock even while running 285-75R16 tires..i wouldn't worry about the intake.

If I installed a turbo back exhaust, it would validate my warranty, correct? Are there significant MPG gains with only a CAT Back exhaust and possibly just a K&N filter?

I do want to upgrade the tires to 275 75R 16 tires soon. Without lifting the entire truck, is there a way to level off the front? Please provide product names so I can research them on the net, also.
