It is easier when you take out the steering column. It still will be a b*tch. Make sure yoy have a good torque wrench and Sh*t load of patience. Good Luck

It wasn't too bad. Remove the fender liner, remove the bolt in the steering shaft so you can slide the shaft out of the way. remove the large tube that goes from the front to the turbo charger. You will be able to reach all the manifold bolts now.

.I just did mine yesterday and the others are correct about removing the tube from the turbo to the intercooler and take out the bolt in the steering shaft and push it up into the column and drop the other shaft down. The bolts are tight and I had to get a hammer and hit my wrench to break some of them loose. When you get the heat shield off you will want to hammer / reshape it to the new manifold so it is easy to get the bolts in it before you install the manifold. Don’t forget to look closely at the inner fender from the underside and push back the harness clip attach points so you don't yank the harness.

Use PB Blaster to Pre-soak the Nuts. Also to help run them off. Got that trick from tractor forum. Another trick is to heat the nut just hot enough to melt bee's wax prefferly or candle wax on the nut and stud. Comes off a whole lot easier than liquid wrench.
take out the fender and the steering shaft after that it is all clear. depending on how many miles are on your truck will be the big factor if it is easy or not. all my bolts came out real easy.

Before you put it back together, look at the wiring harness to see if it is rubbing through on you fender liner. Some have had that issue, it will eventually short out your computer. Mine was rubbing so I wrapped a piece of hose and some electrical tape around it to protect it.
