EGR delete??

Whats the advantage of getting the EGR delete my local diesel shop said he would put it in for 15 bucks, but im kinda clueless on why i would want/need it. can someone tell me whats the reason to get it or not to get it????

Truck: 2006 Chevy Duramax LBZ ECSB
Lift: 8in Pro Comp
Tires and Wheels: 37/13.50/20
Tune: EFI live by Rob Coddens
Exhaust: 4in Silverline TB straight pipe 8in tip
Intake: Volant Cold Air
Other: EGR Blocker Plate
Lights: All on mod Recon smoked cab lights
Sound: Avic 700bt(modified) Two 12in Kicker L5s in ProBox Alpine M1000 Amp
Tint: 5% all around 35% windshield

the egr/cooler delete on my 2011 gave me an extra 3 mpg.

The way I was told is that the egr works for an engine, is just like if a human was to live by inhaling his own farts, can't be good.

2011 sclb 6.7 cummins

2" level- egr/cooler delete- xrt pro w/ overdrive

5" flo pro tbe - fuel rail plug - airdog II

Unbelievable. Never heard put like that but I'll be getting my egr delete done asap. Iv heard that its not really noticeable but like I say mine is not done yet. I have the plate just not installed.

Traded my tuned LBZ for a 2013 Denali HD. 2500.
Waiting to tune Gale Banks is still a criminal!

i've heard people claim their mpg goes down some with blocker or delete...

I'm sure that $15 will get you a blocker plate but realize that your Service Engine Soon light will come on until you delete EGR out of your programming via EFILive.

This stops putting soot from exhaust in through Turbo and into engine. These are bad for engine and can cause premature wear from Foriegn Materials into the clean engine. Also a second item to perform is the PCV vent mod also helps keep engine cleaner.

once you get on the site got to dmax performance, then pick what engine you have and
click on egr blocker. then click on the install intructions.

In theory you should get more power. Your cylinders are filling with 100% combustables, right? no inert gasses.

i did the egr delete on my truck a few months ago.. just blocker plates.. check engine light never came on.. i did it cause i didnt want all the soot going through the intake valves.

As long as you don't get traction, you won't break a thing.
