Brand new to Duramax/Diesel

Hey guys,

Not only am I new to this forum, I am also new to Duramax and diesel trucks in general. I just bought a 2008 GMC 2500HD Duramax with 27K miles. I've been driving it a fair bit lately and have been getting about 14mpg. Basically what I want from you guys is to share your knowledge on the Duramax, give me some tips, suggestions, things I should know. Any help would be much appreciated.. So far I am loving this truck!

I love mine and I have 113,000 miles on it. If you delete the dpf you will see gains in mpg but if you are just driving around town dont expect much. They are great trucks and youll love it!
Welcome!

So I've been reading through some of the topics on here.. and from what I gather, a DPF Delete is a good way for +MPG? Could anyone tell me a little more about what that is? Also, EFI Tuner, and the reasons/benefits/disadvantages of a programmer (i.e. Bullydog, etc..) I want to try to keep the truck fairly stock, appearance wise. The thing I don't like is the chrome fender trim. So I might buy some bushwhackers. I have an extended warranty that I've purchased, so will any of these mods void my warranty?
