I have always wanted a hood stack! I could just never justify cutting my hood and then putting black smoke all over my baby. You have to admit though, it looks pretty cool at a sled pull or drag strip!

That mustang losing boost after opening up the exhaust is strictly because your system was too restrictive, post turbo. A loss in boost does NOT always mean a hp drop. Chances are very good that if you had that car on the dyno before and after, you would have seen that max boost came on quicker, and the car more than likely ran cooler as well. The same is true with our trucks. It doesnt matter how much air you try and cram in the intake, if it cant exhale tat the same rate you will see higher boost numbers and correspondingly high egts. On a turbo charged vehicle, large exhaust after the turbo will never hurt your performance.

A cylinder head that does not flow enough on the intake side will also "show" more boost on a gauge that is placed in the intake. This is caused from a build up of boost in the intake. Lots of variables affect the boost gauge and more boost on the gauge does not always mean more power. Kind of rewording the previous post. I just wanted to second that the term "too big" (within reason) really doesn't apply to post turbo.

X2, 10 psi on a 60mm inducer is less than 10 psi in a 72mm inducer because the 72mm has more volume to move the air.

While I can't confirm or deny what you say because I didn't dyno it, I can take a guess that wasn't the case. Ass dyno as my confirmation. That thing would burn them easily rolling all the way through 3rd gear. I couldn't get them to chirp in 2nd after the exhaust swap.
