I was trying to put my last napa filter on i got them for free had a wix on before it and its time to change it. Any ways i can't get the napa one to start on the filter housing. I did some measuring and it has less room from the middle round part on the top of the filter then the wix one does what is up with this? I want to order some racors up but if they are designed like the napa 3910 i have they won't work i couldn't get it to start. Anybody else have this happen? And are the racors really a 4 micron filter? If they are is it really worth to get a nicktane and a donaldson filter it would only filter 1 more micron more. How many microns should we be filtered to for the fuel system?
I believe you can get a spacer from Alligator Diesel to offset the housing from the mounting bracket to give you room to start your filter. If I understand you correctly . Also from what I understand the the more junk you can filter from your fuel the better.
Will the cat filter out water though? I have read it won't. I don't want to risk water in the fuel system. I know i could run the donaldson 3 micron filter its just nicer i can pick up cat filters in town and not wait for them and they are only 15 bucks in town but if they don't filter water im not going to run them. I also thought about doing the diy filter underneith and leave the factory filter for the water reasons and run the cat for the 2micron rating. I also read some where that the cat isn't a 2 micron but a 4 mircon filter now don't know if that is right or not but i did read it some where. What is the racor filter that madjack racing sells that goes on the stock filter rated for micron ratings?

The Racor coalescer filter (oem AC/Delco) excels over Napa/Wix with (4micron nom) particulate removal and 99% emulsified water removal, it will last twice (or more) as long, it does not bypass when clogged (Wix), and it's cheaper from DF forum vendors.
