Active Maxx for an H&S is pretty cool, depends on your goals with the truck. For H&S the display and shift on the fly is alot simpler if you plan on doing the install yourself. EFI is amazing and tunes are unlimited if you plan to add more parts, install is tougher to do yourself.

Why do you say that? I can tune your truck to have less power than stock. EFILive doesnt mean your trans will break.

Yes.
I'm just saying he already has it, their decent tuners if all he's doing is what he has now no point in buying something else

Why does everyone hate anything but EFI? H&S, PPE, EDGE, BULLY DOG who ever they all have good products. Yes EFI gives you the most personalized tunes but why should everyone run EFI over a can tuner? Im not real famililiar with EFI, could someone educate us, is there anything that the H&S can do that EFI cant do?

Country Boys Diesel none of the above are "chips", not a big deal to me but guys on here will give you crap for calling them chips. Technical term is tuner or programmer.

From sticky in EFI forum:
What is EFILive?
It is the singular most powerful tuning software built to allow you to tune YOUR Duramax to YOUR specific needs and gaining you the performance you desire from your Duramax! You can decrease your HP or you can increase your HP. Anything from stock level of HP to 1000+HP with supporting mods. Along with that you can enhance your fuel economy quite nicely as well and make a better performing and a more efficient Duramax!

What are "Canned" tunes?
Any chip or programmer manufactured with tunes already stored in it is classed as a canned tune! Why is that? Because the manufacturer of that tune built it to work on your average joe's truck. I'm sure they had many hrs of dynoing and testing it on several trucks, but lets face it they designed it to suit the needs of most trucks. It wasnt designed to fit the need of your specific truck. Will it work and gain you performance and economy? YES most will do just that but some wont. So there are down sides to that also! Over all canned tunes work great for your average joe's truck and most guys are very pleased with performance and economy gains of the canned tunes, but the question is are you an average joe!

IMO canned tuners work for alot more than just the average joe, lots of daily driver, race and tow rigs run amazing with canned tuners. BUT, like the sticky says, if you have very specific expectations from your truck, go with EFI. I hear great things about Idaho Rob and im sure that there are many EFI tuners that have great tunes. All depends on what you want and what you use the truck for... Good luck!
