Efi live dicontuning dpf removal?

Has anybody heard if efi will have to give up there option to delete dpf and egrs? Im trying to figure out if i need to order it now or wait a couple months and order it then when im working more overtime and have extra money. I don't want to loose the ability to do the deletes though.

From what I have read EFI Live will not change anything. Basically they do not create the tunes they just provide the means of communication between a computer and the ECM. It is possible that tuners may stop making delete tunes available. I think I saw this info on their website. If you can swing it now I would order it and just wait to install it.

Their next software update will remove the emissions delete features. Download the current version (free) and do not update it.

See the last sentence of the 5th paragraph.

Efi live publicly announced on there website that they are disabling dpf delete options on there later software versions for US based customers. As of now most tuners are still offering delete tuning. Who knows what will happen in the later months tho so if i were you i would jump on some tuning sooner than later. Only real way to ensure you will always have the dpf delete option would be to snag yourself a v2 asap.

Man this stuff sucks. I have a buddy that has a v2 but i would have to buy a license from him he also has a dsp 5 he said he would give me, i don't think he has updated it lately so i think he has the older software. But i would like to have tunes built by somebody that knows what they are doing. I was just at his shop today and he had an hs for his lml and exhaust on it already he just bought the truck a week ago. He said if we end up having to go back to stock and doing emmision testing hes going back to a gasser and going to super charge it, not that is in the back of my mind too.

If companies are allowed to sell "race only exhaust", why wouldnt companies be allowed to sell "race only" tuners?

Link please? You are sure this would allow you to maintain the EGR/DPF delete functionality by itself? Or would you need to order a tuner now?

Found the link http://www.efilive.com/index.php?opt...=48&Itemid=124
Guess I shoulda looked first lol!

Also found that a new V2 will come with updated bootblock and firmware, which may not be compatible with the old software. So more than likely you will need both to retain DPF delete functionality.
