I have farce attitudes on my Duramax right now, but the through rocks like no
Tomorrow. I drive down 2 miles daily, and I don't like the mudflap look on my pickup. Any advice helps!
Michelin at2....nightmare of rock throwing. :surprise:
Long life true truck tire (not SUV) haulers run,
Duravis R500
Never noticed a rock one after two sets of those crap michelins. :cookoo[1]:
And like all Bridgestones, they balance well very little weight. Unlike the at2 that want 6+oz of weights.
I liked my toyo mts (awesome tire but spendy). They barely threw rocks but when they did it was a doozy. I put duratracs on after and they throw rocks like crazy. All my buddies with AT tires complain about throwing rocks too. My next set will be toyo mts.
I too made the switch to Toyo MT from an AT tire because of rocks specifically. It is much better. But as stated, when it does manage to pick one up you will know it.
I have run them in snow and they do work very well. The tread doesn't pack with snow like a lot of AT tires in the winter. The only downside to them in the winter is, if you are in an area that receives a lot of freezing rain resulting in icy roads, there is practically no siping on the lugs.
My truck had the nice gm mud flaps on it when I bought it and I had planned to remove them. Once I put at's on it, they didn't look nearly as bad as I once thought. I left them, my tires and paint are more important to me vs overall look
I run the Toyo RT's and they don't tend to throw rocks as much as the Hankook Dynapro ATM's that I had on my last truck. Great looking tire as well. Ran all last winter in the snow here in Colorado without any issues.
They do great. Had to switch to 4wd a few times but never had an issue. I will buy another set when these are gone. Plus they are quieter than the MT's and have a 45,000 mile rating. I have 15K on them and they will easily make 45K.
Fairly new Mich AT2s...stepped out after backing in, turned and looked as a walked by and I see this. :rofl
Not staged, it loaded and hung on it's own.
It really depends on what you want. If you want knobbies, they will all pick up lots of rocks. If you can accept an all season then they will pick up a lot less but any tire will throw a rock now and then. Look at the gravel on the road you drive. Find a tire with tread gaps that are smaller than the gravel and they will throw a lot less.
Just get some duraflaps and run whatever tire you want. If it's not rocks your throwing, it will be fine dirt like sand. You either take chunks of paint out, or sandblast the panel...
