Getting 16.5 to 17.2 highway and local, 1900 miles.
What will help mpg?
I would be happy with those numbers. They seem slightly above the norm. Don't think you really need any help, but I am also interested in anything that can efficiently increase mpg.
We have driven our 2K8 over 8000 miles now. Empty down the straight and narrow, we can average just less than 20 on the open highway. In town we get around 10 to 12 depending upon how much freeway is included. Towing we average about 11.5 to 11.75 doing about 60mph pulling a 26 ft, 12ft high, Komfort 5th wheel weighing in at about 9k. We don't drive it hard, but we do drive it. I expect that these will be just about the definitive numbers most of us can expect. Were currently on the road and most of these towing miles were in the western mountains between Sacramento and Zion National Park. Much of it on I-80 and I-50.

300 miles on the brand new 2008 truck and I am getting 13.5 to 14 in city. Much better than the Ford F250 V10 (9 mpg anywhere/anytime). Lets see what the future brings.
