I not estimated just stating what i got and he should see atleast a 2mpg gain empty and it will probably increase over time. And i towed our 20ft ski boat, and saw 16 mpg pulling it, not as heavy or have as much drag as your trailer though.

Black Friday Sale going on till Dec. 3rd. PM for pricing.
I will be out of country Dec. 4-8th. Let me know if can help before i leave, or upon return.
I know it doesn't have many miles, so I guess I'll keep going and see if it gets better. I do plan on swapping in a new donaldson air filter and change the fuel filter again. I'm also running B5 bio now and Amsoil 15w40 and filter.
i didnt like the mega cab, due to work, the quad cab was too small in the back, the chevy is a very nice layout on a truck, lots of power from the Duramax, if it got any mileage at all, i would highly recommend one.Nothing against the Chevy guys on here they are lots of help, I would have bought a dodge. Just my .02 cents. Love the Chevy, Not to crazy about the Duramax.
Do you miss the under rear seat storage of the Dodge?
only 15 empty @72mph av on my only trip new, had it reflashed by dealer for recall before I went so don't know if it lost some from before, otherwise stock

I just went on a trip.
Towed my enclosed trailer and got 11.8 MPG.
That's the same as I got unloaded.
This is still better than my old 95 dually (gas)
but was expecting better MPG.
Just turned 2000 miles on the trip.

Try running 75-80mph mine seems to like going faster. I pull my enclosed trailer that weighs about 10k at 65-70 my mileage is around 9-10, but if I run 75-80 I get 10 to 11???? I think it just likes being abused or maybe its cruising in its power band?? I kid with my helper and tell him it dumps the same amount of fuel fast or slow. We just get there quicker fast so it does not run as long
