Just finished a 9400 mile trip towing a 31 foot fifth wheel weighing 11500
2008 duramax w/ allison 6 av 10.3 MPG would like more. Any Ideas?
Do the DPF delete if you dont mind voiding exhaust warranty at a minimum. Shoot me a pm or give me a call, if you have any questions about it. You could see up to 4-5 mpg empty.

About 2k miles on my new truck already. Has 4" lift with 275/70/18 (basically 33 1/2" tires) Discover STTs. Hand calc with correction for new tires - about 13mpg around town, 14-15 when driving 75-80 on freeway, impressive 19.6 mpg when keeping it 65 mph (all highway driving trip).
22,000 miles and I get 11 towing a 13,000lb 5th wheel, 13 around town and 16 on the highway. Much over 65 and it drops to about 14. MPG has gone up since I got rid of my K and N filter. K & N was throwing a code for the air flow sensor. Too much oil out of the box that would gum up the sensor. Dealer would not replace sensor under warranty until I came back with a stock filter. Two friends had same problem.
Good thing to remember is to watch your tire pressure. My mileage dropped almost 1mpg after getting my tires rotated. They had let the back tires down to 60psi and the front down to 45psi for a better ride. Pumped them back up to 70 today, i should be getting 19+ again.

I think you give too much reason to their ineptitude. One of my pet peeves with these tire places is they simply refuse to look at the tire they're servicing.
Why in the hell would someone think I want 45psi in any 10-ply tire on the truck or trailer? It has gotten me into some tough situations in the past, not realizing their mistake until I have 20k lbs loaded. This after explicitly stating the pressure I desired in the tires.
I carry an air compressor now so, not such a problem anymore.
Now after rotations, I just have 'em leave the pressure alone and put the wheel caps and beauty rings in the back of the truck. I adjust the pressure properly at the shop when they're cold, and re-install the wheel caps WITHOUT stripping out the plastic lug nut caps, another peeve on mine! An impact wrench on PLASTIC caps, sheesh!

I also have the 08 cc stock reg box, im around 16 mpg around town, manual calc after the last 2 fill ups and dead on with comp. took a ride up the pa turn pike and reset instant econo and after about 15 miles it settled in at 21.5, are you finding the same and should i expect to get better milage as the truck breaks in?
