When you guys are saying removing the stock exhaust you are talking from the DPF back. Correct? Have you all had any issues with the DPF plugging?

The best increase in MPG is removing the whole stock system and replacing with turbo back aftermarket exhaust. Regen and codes are then removed via EFI Live.

I also have just over 5000 miles and my DIC is reading and seems to be stuck on 12.6 mpg. When I first got it, the DIC was reading approx. 14.3 mpg. So, im fairly pissed as I read this thread and see that most members are getting reasonable to good mpg's. I do plan to purchase a tuner in the near future and maybe exhaust & air intake as well. Depends on money. I see that everyone likes the PPE tuner. What about the Banks? I dont hear much mentioned about it. Is there a reason?

Also, I am a new member and new duramax owner. I've loved them from the day they were concepted just finally got into a position to purchase one and I love it. This site seems really awesome too and you all seem really helpful with any questions or problems. THANKS!

Have 07 2500HD 15000 miles mpg 17 to 19 but winter blend nocked it down to 15. Pulling 8000 lb. 5th wheel I get 10 to 13. Had hoped for better.

Just got back from a weekend up to NH.....Truck's computer still reads 12.5/6 mpg but hand calculated a 14.7 mpg between 75-80mph on the way up and 14.7mpg @ 80-90mph on the way home. 155 miles one way. so the mileage is a little better than i thought, but why doesnt the truck read the correct fuel mileage?

Just reset the average mileage - it will start a new calculation - mine went (and stayed) over 15.4 from 14.5 at 4400 miles.

Still not what I had hoped, but better.

Banks has the new 6-gun out for our trucks now - it's spendy at over a grand, but they say it will improve economy by 3mpg or so. Also, of course, more power.

No load:
@55 -- 21mpg
@65 -- 19mpg
@75 -- 17.5mpg

w/ 3500# cab-over camper Tucson to Pinetop, AZ and home -- 11.2mpg

My LMM does slightly better than the '01 Dodge I used to have plus it's got tons more power. All you guys that are complaining about milage just remember that there's only so much energy available per unit of fuel and the efficiency of an internal combustion engine doesn't vary much between manufacturers -- it's just physics! If you want to increase your milage it's real simple: slow down and it will get better!

but i dont want to slow down. haha. anyways, went out to western mass this weekend and reset my dic when i left. it was reading 17-18's mpg @ 70-75. so im pretty happy with that. what are you guys getting for mileage to a tank? im about 250 mi/city and 280-300/highway. and if your hand calculating your mileage, when youre filling up, do you stop when the pump clicks off or do you top it off?

all this might some dumb and ramble a bit but im tired, its been a long day. sorry.
