Highest miles on a Duramax? How far can they go?

The D-Max's have not been out that long, but someone doing deliveries might rack up some high miles.......

What has anyone heard of on the HIGH MILES end of things?

I want to know what to top... Ha!

Cheers from Oz....

I got a customer that has 4 06 LBZ's. He delivers various trailers all different weights all over the U.S. He has even driven to Alaska from here in Atlanta!!! He had two of his trucks that had major engine failure. One at 550,000 miles and the other at 500,000 miles. Both engines the crank shafts broke. It also should be noted that he never replaced any injectors or even a water pump. He did have to replace alternators. He has a small program he puts in only when unloaded for fuel economy. When he tows he leaves the engines bone stock.

I know there's a guy on here with an 07 LBZ that has over 300k miles, and it's running great for him.

There's been quite a few LB7's that have passed the 300k mark and are still doing great as well.

Uncle is a GM Tech and just put injectors in a 02LB7 with just over 500k!! That guy hauls campers for a living as well.

yea man i love how well duramax's hold up. don't think they will ever be able to out drive the old school mechanical diesel's though. there was an article in the latest diesel power had a cummins with just over a million miles with no major rebuild

I've got an 07 lbz with 125,000 miles in less than 2 yrs. Change fluids and filters.

This is a loaded question. ALL of the HIGH MILEAGE trucks are STOCK. Not lifted, exhaust, programmer.

If you want it to last buy it and leave it alone. They will and can go 300-500k WITHOUT power adders.
