What your mileage on stock engine?

I've searched the forum, but only found a comment here and there for an unaltered, stock engine with all emissions equipment. I was wondering if some people could share their city and highway mileages (and speed on highway) unloaded. I checked Consumer Reports, and their mileages for the Silverado 2500 Duramax were 9 and 21 (no speeds given).

Thanks.

Michael

That question is a bit generalized. How about breaking it down to LB7, LLY, LBZ and LMM.

I'll go for my LBZ when new. 14 city/18 highway unloaded. Towing, between 8 and 11 depending on head wind while towing 11K toyhauler.

Speed on highway is typically 75-82 mph. In town is mix of stop and go, mild belt way driving.

mixture of city/highway driving:
600kms +/- on 80l fillup. this is an average fillup on summer fuel, winter drops to under 500kms/fill. driving like i stole it....

pure highway:
420kms 0n 50l pure highway towing double snowmobile trailer with 2 bikes and bed full of gear for weekend at cabin. holding highwy spped to 100-110km/hr. this was an actual run 3 wks ago.

i dont have the speedo corrected for tire size(wearing 265's).

I was getting 15 in town / to and from work with a few stop lights 30mph in town, 60 mph some of it.
18mpg on highway running 60-65
that was on a brand new engine - I started mods at 5300 miles.

I am getting around 14 in town and 17 on the highway. Everything is stock, for now. Oh, and I drive 70mph on the highway and there is about 15k on the clock so she is not broken in yet.
