Not new to this site, but posting my first thread. I have a 2007 GMC 2500 Duramax that is completely stock. I am looking into putting on an exhaust from the Cat back. I do not want to void my warranty, but would like a louder exhaust - if I could improve gas mileage, torque, or horse power, that would be icing on the cake. I like the sound of the 5" MBRP, but was wondering if I would need to change my intake. If so, what do you guys suggest? Or should I just stay with the 4" MBRP? I would appreciate any feedback as far as what make and size exhaust system (and what intake) you guys recommend. I don't mind spending a few extra dollars. Thanks in advance - can't wait to hear all of your responses!
I have the 4" MBRP turbo back exhaust with the single 5" tip. Great exhaust love it.
I would probably get an intake just to round out the stock air restrictions. You will notice a bit more MPG but not much. A tuner would show even more.

You'll get a tiny bit of sound by getting rid of the stock muffler, but it's nothing like a gas truck where you take off the muffler and it's loud! It will be barely louder than with the muffler at best. Your best bet for sound and performance is to get rid of the cat (unless you have to pass inspections) and do a turbo back exhaust.
Like Tyler said, you don't really need an intake. The stock one flows very well, and can support 500hp with no modifications.
Putting on a DPF back exhaust will do very little for sound and performance. It will, however, look 100% better. The only way to get better sound and performance out of an exhaust on an LMM is to remove the DPF. This could bring up issues at your dealership though.
