My mothers escalade has that motor and thats a bad son of a b***h. Even though it has more horsepower, my lmm still does laps around it lol.

who cares about HP...torque is where it is at. Besides you can get and extra 100 hp and nearly 200 lb/ft of torque for way less than what it would cost a gas engine to do it and you can go back to stock quick too. (not that you will once u get the feel of the higher power)

Not anymore. I think they stopped using the 496 in 2006. I had one and it really liked to guzzle gasoline. Good motor, tons of power. The 6.0 Vortec is gutless so I guess they had to do something.
